A Live-Action Winnie the Pooh Is Coming, Will Probably Be Terrifying

Latest

Winnie the Pooh and friends are adorable as animated creatures but unfortunately animated is good enough for Disney anymore. The House of Mouse has signed Alex Ross Perry (an indie film writer and director) to create a live-action version of Pooh’s many adventures. Let’s call it now: It’s going to be horrifying.

From The Hollywood Reporter:

He [Perry[ will pen the adaptation, which is in the early stages of development. In the new version, Christopher Robin, Winnie’s human pal, will return as an adult to revisit Pooh’s hangout in the Hundred Acre Wood.

As someone who had nightmares after watching Hook, I can’t imagine how many children will be scarred for life when their favorite bear, his sinister rabbit friend and a dysthymic donkey come to life right before their very eyes. Of course, the entire thing could be CGI and very adorable. But probably not. I mean look what they did to Paddington. Horrific.

If you don’t like this movie, however, Disney is releasing a slew of live-action versions of their animated films in the near future.
