Sweet Robert Smith! Here’s the mildly-confusing trailer for This Must Be The Place, Sean Penn’s latest venture in overwhelming character immersion. This time, he’ll be portraying a wild-haired, lipstick wearing, former rock ‘n’ roller who, following his dad’s death, goes on the hunt for the man who persecuted his father at Auschwitz. So, I guess it’s a revenge drama? Wait — Frances McDormand plays his wife so it might also be a romance? And David Byrne from Talking Heads is in it, too — perhaps it’s just a music video? Nevermind — it’s not up to us to pin Sean Penn to a certain genre. He’s far too much of an actor’s actor for all that.
