New Facebook Icons Let the World Know When You Get Gay Married

Latest

When it comes to modern relationships between insufferable people who take pictures of their food, it’s not official until it’s on Facebook. And until very recently, the social networking site couldn’t provide accurate graphics to newly wed same sex couples, thus negating all gay rights. But not anymore — Facebook recently rolled out new same-sex icons designed to let the world know that you’re here, you’re queer, and you’re legally married to someone of the same sex.

Even though they might be changing your email address without permission and fucking up your contact information on other people’s cell phones and the price of companies shares are going down faster than something something blow job, Facebook’s doing at least one thing right: not being a jerk to gay people. The sometimes-evil social networking behemoth was recently given an award by GLAAD for its efforts to combat anti-gay bullying.

Let the co-opting of the same-sex marriage symbol by middle school best friends begin.
