Your Afternoon Sob: Children's Hospital Does Moving Lip Sync to 'Roar'

Latest

This video of children, families, doctors, nurses and administrators from the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock lip syncing Katy Perry’s “Roar” is more than an afternoon cry. It’s an afternoon weep. It’s an afternoon emotion-hurricane.

The video shows several children who are long-term patients at CHaD dancing, lip syncing, smiling, roaring and flexing their muscles — surrounded by the people who love them and fight for them. It’s an incredible, inspiring show of strength, joy and perseverance. I had to take approximately nine tissue-breaks.

As Michelle Jaworski at the Daily Dot puts it, “it might be ‘just another day at CHaD,’ but these long-term patients, their families, and the doctors, nurses, and administrators who care for them are fighting battles every day.” THESE CHILDREN ARE AMAZING BEACONS OF HOPE AND LIGHT.

You can donate to CHaD Hero, a charity event sponsored by the hospital that benefits over 60,000 kids and their families, here.
