Yes or No, Vol. 3: Meghan Trainor, JMSN & Run the Jewels

Y: Janine and the Mixtape’s super chill #sadgirls song “Hold Me (Remix)” sounds like something I’d listen to while laying in bed thinking about my tragicomic love life: “When it gets cold and I’m feeling lonely/ I’m hoping that you wanna put a cover on me.” Janine, who recently signed to Atlantic Records, conveys quiet infatuation very effectively in the grainy, black-and-white emo video. [Nah Right]

N: Mike WiLL Made It titled a song “Pussy Overrated,” and it features Wiz Khalifa and Future’s atrocious ex-bashing lyrics. Sample line: “After you strip naked, you’re supposed to fuck me like a star/ Girl, you know you’re fakin’/ Your pussy overrated.” Though I’m all for rappers crafting bitter break-up records (for the sake of progress), this straight reeks. [Complex]

Y: The treadmill-runway visuals in Ting Tings’ “Do It Again” video are creative but kind of makes me dizzy. Still, love the song. [Vevo]

Y: Meghan Trainor’s “Lips Are Movin” is the follow-up to her No. 1 hit, “All About That Bass,” and it sounds an awful lot like “All About That Bass,” so gotta like it. Background claps, sticky bass and peppy raps galore. [Billboard]

Y: The start-stop production and talk-singing vibe of JMSN’s “Street Sweeper,” plus the hint of raspiness in his voice, sort of reminds me of Jon B. Clearly, today’s roundup theme is chill out. [This Is R&B]

Y: It was a dark and stormy night in the video for Childish Gambino’s”Telegraph Avenue,” set on Hawaii’s Kaui island. And Childish Gambino was chilling with Jhené Aiko and then he transformed into a beastly octopus being and that’s the end of the story. I know. I dunno. I don’t hate it. [Miss Info]

Y: Mark McGuire’s “Noctilucence” and its electro sparkles sound like a nerdy astronomer’s anthem and I’m into it. [Stereogum]

Y: Currently refraining from doing all types of turn-up arms to Gangsta Boo and Beatking’s Underground Cassette Tape Music, which includes a flip of Rihanna’s “Pour It Up.” [Live Mixtapes]

N: Chris Brown and Trey Songz’s remix of TeeFLii’s “24 Hours” starts off: “You better hide that pussy.” Will do. I just want a break from DJ Mustard beats. [This Is R&B]

Y: Run the Jewels’ “Close Your Eyes (And Count to Fuck)” is speedy and dexterous, a song worth adding to your workout playlist or sitting-around-the-house-and-might-workout playlist. [Stereogum]
