In January 2012, Melissa Dohme's ex-boyfriend stabbed her 32 times. In court this week, Dohme said: "I can't even look at it as anything bad anymore." Why? Because the paramedic who saved her life is now the love of her life. (She's also graduated from college and become a nurse since the attack.)
Oh lord, nothing raises my eyes like the whole "I don't mind that X happened to me, because without it, I would never have found the love of my life!!!"
Yes. Yes, you would have. People find other people they love every day without having to first endure some sort of terrible trauma or hardship. It is okay to admit shitty things happened to you, and that they may have happened to you for no good reason whatsoever.
