Woman Disposes of Husband's Penis in Garbage Disposal

Women acting crazy? Penises? Divorce? California? Well, this should give Jay Leno enough material to get him through the end of the 2014 TV season.

A Los Angeles area woman is being held on $1 million bail after drugging her husband, tying him to their bed, and severing his penis with a ten inch knife before tossing it in her garbage disposal and turning it on, as though if there were no evidence of the penis laying around, there’d be no evidence that she’d cut the thing off or something.

The victim had in May begun divorce proceedings against his wife, to whom he’d been married for about a year and a half. Police say they have no evidence of behavior prior to the assault that indicated any extenuating circumstances that would have given the woman motive to commit the crime, although after being arrested she insisted to police that he “deserved it.”

Reports the Los Angeles Times,

Catherine Kieu Becker was arrested by Garden Grove police on suspicion of aggravated mayhem, false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, administering a drug with intent to commit a felony, poisoning and spousal abuse.

If she’s convicted on the mayhem charge, she faces up to a life sentence with the possibility of parole.

When I hear “aggravated mayhem,” I think of a hysterical Muppet knocking over all of the potted plants on Sesame Street, not someone inflicting serious bodily harm on their spouse, but I digress.

Investigators seemed disturbed by the crime as well,

“You’re not just depriving a person of a member or portion of their body or disfiguring them,” he said, “you’re doing something that’s so egregious we’re not sure what’s going to happen: if they’re going to be able to reattach this or repair this person after such a violent attack.

“The intention by this person was to permanently deprive this victim of his genitalia,” Nightengale added.
