Wise Girl Scout Pushes Cookies Outside a Portland Weed Shop

A Girl Scout in Portland had the bright idea to sell Girl Scout cookies right outside a local weed dispensary. Why didn’t you think of that?

The Girl Scout, with the help of her aunt, posted up in front of Foster Buds Marijuana Dispensary on Saturday with the intention of selling enough cookies to pay for something called “horse camp” this summer.

KATU reports:

The aunt said they had several customers within minutes of setting up their table.

“The Girl Scouts organization said they don’t condone this, but it’s not against the rules,” she said.

Foster Buds eagerly promoted this Girl Scout cookie operation on their Facebook page, writing:

The Girl Scouts are outside doing their thing selling those delicious cookies we all know and love. 🍪🍪

Tonight we’re running a special on our Girl Scout Cookies from @farmertwelve

All you have to do is bring in your box of Girl Scout Cookies with you and you’ll be able to get a special priced eighth of Farmer 12s Girl Scout Cookies! Hurry down and see your buds before this delicious deal is a thing of the past! 😊😊

Word is*, the Girl Scout repeatedly yelled things like “The game done changed” and “My name is my name!” after each successful purchase.

*Not really but it could’ve happened.

I know this is a funny story but in all seriousness, Girl Scouts is a fantastic organization. When the Boy Scouts kicked out leaders who were gay, the Girl Scouts proudly supported their leaders. When the Boy Scouts loudly stated their organization was Christian based, the Girl Scouts said theirs was open to everybody, regardless of religion or the lack there of. They also stood by when a Dallas troop donated money from a fund raiser to Planned Parenthood and steadfastly defended them for doing so.

The Girl Scouts teach girls about leadership, equality, fairness, compassion, service and respect. It’s one of the best organizations around for young, soon to be women. Even if you don’t like their cookies or maybe think they are overpriced, that’s some of the best $4.00 you will ever spend.
