What The Hell, DSW?

Warning: This footage may cause seizures and/or crippling migraines. Seriously.

Because shopping — for anything — helps me avoid my feelings, I recently headed over to everyone’s favorite poorly lit, kill-or-be-killed shoe store, The Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW, in layman’s terms). I was at their Union Square location, which I’ve not been to in a few months. And it was there that I, like thousands of other defenseless shoppers, was confronted with this most eye-blinding signage, conveniently placed at the top of the escalators where one is forced to see it, just 20 feet from our unprotected eyes.

Is this supposed to lure customers into the store? Because I can’t think of a better way to make a person turn away. And somewhere, an executive approved this. I bet they were really excited about it too.
