Watch Carson Daly and Savannah Guthrie Get Botulism Injections on TV
LatestFriday morning on Today two of NBC’s most reliable crash test dummies, Carson Daly and Savanna Guthrie, received botulism injections—LIVE!—for the whole world to watch. The segment was about “what you need to know before going under the knife,” which doesn’t make a whole lot of sense, given the fact that Botox requires no knives and literally no one on earth “needs to know” what Carson Daily looks like when he’s about to regret something.

The segment, which you can view below, is mostly buildup. There’s Carson looking nervous as the doctor applies the numbing gel, looking more nervous as she holds up the syringe, Matt Lauer filming it all with his phone, and Savannah being mostly relaxed and indifferent to the whole thing.
It’s the sound “uhhhhhh” in video form, and late-summer morning television at its most comically desperate – which is, strangely, one of the reasons morning shows are so much fun to watch.
