Volunteers Step In To Save Gaddafi's Ostriches

When Muammar Gaddafi fled Libya, he left behind about 1,000 ostriches, along with herds of cattle, camels, sheep, and goats. He made no provisions to care for the animals, so they were dying — but now volunteers are feeding them and giving them medical care. Says volunteer Mohamad Al Majdoub, “They are part of Libya’s patrimony. They are part of our future.”
