Vice and Vogue are starting a new editorial project together called “Project Vs” that will include a new website produced by editors from both magazines. According to Variety, readers will get “a mix of videos, photos, long form storytelling and other elements that will all be promoted by both media companies on social media.”
The (vague) idea is for the website to “showcase figures, movements and issues affecting society,” which, considering the brands, means that they’ll probably be sending Gigi Hadid to investigate a Japanese cuddle cafe or something.
Anna Wintour said this about the project in a statement, which I like to imagine was delivered through gritted teeth:
“Vogue and Vice may appear to some to see the world through different lenses. But, in my view, both are fearless and breathtaking, with unquenchable curiosity and vigor. This collaboration will benefit from two talented editorial teams working together to produce relevant and exciting stories about the way we live now.”
This fearless and breathtaking project is going to launch in 2018.
