According to the article, with regards to the dog needing the surgery, "I just felt he was a very adoptable dog."

I admit I don't know much about dogs, but why would the dog *not* be adoptable because it was born intersexed? Why exactly did the dog "need" the surgery? And why in the world are people imposing human ideas on sex and sexuality on a dog?
