Jax Taylor, the square-jawed SUR bartender of Vanderpump Rules, says he was once “literally, legitimately scared” of his apolitical ex Stassi Schroeder..
When asked about his status with Stassi in a podcast interview with Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Jax denied that they’d ever get back together and gave a rundown of Stassi’s pattern of vengefulness toward him, which he claims included physical attacks. Together, they were famously the most emotionally volatile couple of all Lisa Vanderpump’s work-children.
“She’s broken some cellphones. She smashed my face with a tennis racket. She keyed my car,” Jax tells the hosts, adding that Stassi once got him fired from a modeling gig because it involved him working with another woman. “She called up the client the night before or got on the email and said, ‘He’s not doing this job; it’s with a girl.’ I didn’t even know she did it and I woke up the next morning and I’m checking my email. They’re like, ‘Yeah we found somebody [else].’”
It’s hard to tell when Jax is exaggerating events, though it’s also clear Stassi had a destructive mean streak. “I think I was just too scared of her. I was literally, legitimately scared of her,” he says.
Jax also talked about his screw-up with Brittany and admits to sabotaging his relationships through dumb behavior and masterfully bad lies. “I try to make it where the other person will break up with me,” he says. This season, that means lying about cheating on Brittany with another SUR coworker, Faith.
Jax is currently in therapy, which is good, but he still thinks he’s an easy “prime target” for criticism in his circle.
