Two Women in Their 90s Wed After Spending Decades Together as a Couple

Vivian Boyack, 91, and Alice “Nonie” Dubes, 90, were a lot of like most couples on the day of their wedding. Giddy, a little nervous and most of all, deeply in love. But things were a little different for them than they are for most of the couples who get married at First Christian Church in Davenport, Iowa. Dubes and Boyack have spent 72 years together as a couple.

According to the Quad City Times, the couple had a small ceremony surrounded by friends and family. The ceremony was the culmination to a long life spent together in their community:

The two met in Yale, Iowa, where they grew up, and moved to Davenport in 1947.
Boyack was a longtime teacher in Davenport, directing the lives of children at Lincoln and Grant elementary schools….Dubes worked for the Times and Democrat for 13 years in payroll….Over the years, the two have traveled to all 50 states, all the provinces of Canada, and to England twice.

“We’ve had a good time,” Dubes told the Quad City Times. You can see photos of their nuptials here.

QUICK SOMEONE MAKE THE MOVIE ABOUT THEIR STORY PLEASE. HURRY. Kate Winslet, do you need another Oscar?
