Tracy Morgan Under Fire For Homophobic Rant At Live Show

Latest

Last weekend, Tracy Morgan delivered a tirade during what was supposedly a comedy show in Nashville. His statements, which were summarized by an audience member, were particularly hateful and included comments about how he’d stab his son to death if he said he was gay. Now Truth Wins Out and several other organizations are calling for an explanation and an apology. His words were deeply disturbing, but sadly this isn’t new for Morgan. He’s been saying being gay is a choice for years, and his homophobia made several people walk out of a 2009 show at Carnegie Hall.

UPDATE: Tracy Morgan has since apologized for the stand-up set, saying:

“I want to apologize to my fans and the gay & lesbian community for my choice of words at my recent stand-up act in Nashville.”
He adds, “I’m not a hateful person and don’t condone any kind of violence against others.”
“While I am an equal opportunity jokester, and my friends know what is in my heart, even in a comedy club this clearly went too far and was not funny in any context.”
