This Screeching Toy Giraffe Is the Stuff of Children's Nightmares

What the hell is this? I mean, yes, it is obviously some manner of animatronic toy giraffe that screeches horribly, curdling your blood, then walks slowly and with great determination towards its own doom.

I’m asking in a larger sense: Why? Where did it come from? Who is responsible for this intense creepiness? Is this a prank or a malfunction? Could it be the work of some sinister force??? And why do these people have a bright pink Christmas tree?
