All U.S. troops were scheduled to have departed Iraq by December 31st, 2011. At least 4,485 U.S. military personnel died in service in Iraq. The beat of US military imperialism goes on. Obama just signed a bill that increases defense spending at the same time that it cuts LIHEAP, the program that gives fuel assistance to low income folks. It's clear that our national priority is killing people in other countries, and we'd rather do that than help the living in our own.
