Teresa Reveals Own Orange Is the New Black Experience in New Prison Memoir

Latest

It’s only been about a month since Teresa “Prostitution Whore” Giudice was released from prison, but the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is already coming out with a memoir about her life in the clink. Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again recounts Giudice’s time serving 12 months in federal prison after being indicted on charges of bankruptcy fraud and mail and wire fraud.

According to the New York Daily News, the book details Giudice’s prison experience which included embarrassing strip searches, maggots in the food, gross bathrooms and a ton of lesbian sex (apparently NOT by Giudice.) Her quarters had been nicknamed “The Boom Boom Room” due to her cellmates’ frequent hook-ups. “I could see two women … writhing around … I cannot believe this is happening!” Giudice writes in the book.

During her time behind bars, Giudice learned to make do with what was available to her. She discovered “prison spa services,” such as finding inmates who would give her manicures, do her hair and give her massages. She also enlisted the prison seamstress to tailor her jail uniform. Giudice was also still able to enjoy the thrills of shopping—she found sunglasses at the prison commissary for $5.20.

Giudice was released from jail on December 23. Her husband, Joe Giudice, will begin his own 41-month prison term in March and could also face deportation upon his release. Giudice’s book comes out on February 9.
