Trend pieces on the troubles and triumphs of millennials are a dime a dozen these days, and they've started to sound kind of similar — the participation awards, the feelings of entitlement, the special-snowflake-ness. To shake things up a bit, we've decided to ask you what it was like to grow up millennial — or not.

You can fill out our survey no matter how old you are. Just click through, answer nine multiple-choice questions, and become part of a project that, though unscientific, will hopefully still be kind of interesting. The survey's open til Wednesday night — after that, we'll take a look at the data and determine how our readers stack up against popular ideas of how millennials were raised. Take the survey here!

When I was a kid I was too young to be Gen X and then I was too old to be Gen X. Nowadays I get lumped into Gen X. I don't know what the hell I am since Gen X is sometimes considered 1960-1975 and sometimes it's mid/late 60's to early 80's. I think the whole Gen X thing is stupid and maybe we should just be called "that generation that is the grandkids of the one that fought WWII". It would at least be semi-accurate.
