For the 20th anniversary of Sex and the City—which premiered on HBO on June 6, 1998 and went on to become iconic prestige television—Jezebel is doing a week of posts dedicated to our favorite band of sexual women friends.

Big was never hot, and his eyebrows and hair got weirder as the seasons progressed, like someone was drawing them on with marker. Aidan was only kind of hot, but his body was very big, like a giant’s body. I forget who Charlotte dated. The hottest one was Steve, a compact man who also dressed cool, had nice glasses, and spoke with a sweet little voice. He only got hotter as the series went on, and remains hot now, in real life. Congratulations to Steve.

This has been A Brief Take.

How dare you?! I hope you’re not serious and just trying to get a rise out of us because Steve was an overgrown baby with the whiniest voice ever (also a pretty punchable face.) Smith Jerrod was the hottest, inside and out. He truly loved Samantha, despite all the shit he had to take from her. Remember when he stayed in that hotel knowing she was cheating on him because he wanted to make sure she got home safe? When she called him a deviant because he wanted to hold her fucking hand? When she made him film a sex tape in order to prove she wasn’t a “fag-hag”?
