Shocker: No One Wants to Watch Jenny McCarthy on The View

CelebritiesDirt Bag

Well, can’t say no one saw this coming: vaccination expert Jenny McCarthy is not at all popular with viewers of The View; her job is reportedly in jeopardy because “her big mouth is making viewers tune out.” WHAT? YOU DON’T SAY!

According to a production source, McCarthy is even more unpopular among viewers than the very polarizing Elisabeth Hasselbeck was during her View tenure. Although the source is unsure whether McCarthy’s deal is for one year or two, “if Barbara wants her out, they will buy out her contract.” And so it is. [Radar]

The Girl Who Didn’t Go to Paris Lauren Conrad is engaged to William Tell — this William Tell is not the 15th century folk hero, but someone even better: he’s the former “rhythm guitarist” of the band Something Corporate. This union is the best thing to happen to the year 2006 since 2006.

L.C. celebrated the upcoming nuptials by posting smiley faces all over social media and also by promising to share more wedding content on her blog (her blog is sort of like what would happen if GOOP.com were mysteriously covered in pictures of Lauren Conrad).

Congratulations to them! [E!, LaurenConrad.com]

Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart have opened up about their beautiful and tender friendship, and it’s so sweet. In an interview with CBS’ Leslie Stahl, McKellan said, “We are the same actor, really. We’ve had the same career, really. So we’re peers. We’re equals. We’re not rivals.”

They also talked about the end of Waiting for Godot, which they starred in together, and oh my god they’re so lovely:

STEWART: The curtain came down on our last performance, and he went into the wings and sat on some stone steps and sobbed, heartbroken that it was over.
MCKELLAN: Yes, I was heartbroken. And then we were going to say goodbye to each other. You were going off to do other things and I just felt I would never be as happy again.

I love this friendship more than any friendship I have ever participated in. [HuffPo]
