Schumer Hosts MTV Movie Awards: 'Half of You Think I'm Meghan Trainor'

Amy Schumer is great. I love her stand-up, I love Inside Amy Schumer, I fully expect to love her upcoming movie Trainwreck. Didn’t love this monologue, though.

To be fair, it’s the MTV Movie Awards. The bar is pretty low, and on its own, this wasn’t bad at all. But I’ve come to expect so much more from Amy! There are some funny moments, but between the dozens of jokes about Kevin Hart’s height and an uncomfortable comparison between the revenge plot in Gone Girl and “all Latinas,” it was a bit of a letdown. Worth a watch just for the J.Lo reaction shots, though.
