School Punishes Students With Cold Sandwiches

Students at Pennsylvania’s Camp Curtin School couldn’t seem to clean up after themselves in the cafeteria, so the principal took away hot lunches for a week. Instead, they were fed cold sandwiches, fruit, and vegetables. He explained, “We created the opportunity where we could show them what the bare minimum would be.” I don’t know what schools are serving these days, but if I had been forced to eat a turkey sandwich every day it would have definitely taught me a lesson — about “giant mound of french fries” not being the foundation of a balanced diet.
