Saturday Night Social: Hosted By This Cardboard Cutout of Agnès Varda

89-year-old director and New Wave influencer Agnès Varda, the oldest-ever Oscar nominee, has been making the rounds with her co-star and best pal, street artist JR, promoting their nominated documentary Faces Places. She hasn’t technically been able to accompany him, and I have not seen the movie (which is about traveling the provinces and making enormous wheatpastings of residents) but TL;DR, the moral is that if your best friend really really loves you, they will make a cardboard printout of you, take you to meet the Canadian prime minister, fly you around on a drone, and promote you on social media LIKE CRAZY.

And you will say “bof,” because you are French.
