“There is no shortage of troubled twenty-somethings out there, and whether they’re radicalized by ISIS or homophobia or white nationalism or a dislike of movies, we are making it far too easy for their derangement to kill us.”

Samantha Bee covered a lot of ground in seven minutes on her show Monday night, and she doesn’t go easy on anyone who isn’t demanding action after the mass shooting in Orlando this weekend. She draws special attention to the mealy-mouthed response of Florida Governor Rick Scott, who has been responsible for making access to AK-15s, and other guns, more and more available.

Like many, Scott responded to questions on gun control reform with deflections about this being a time to mourn the victims and pray. In response to him, Samantha Bee shares her own bible passage—James 2:17, which reads, “Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
