In ninth grade, my friend and I used to turn off the sound on Rocko’s Modern Life, turn on Sublime’s self-titled album, and watch as Rocko and his friends wandered through their melancholy, chartreuse world. Now you too can ennui it up like it’s 1996 with the show’s first season, coming out on DVD June 21. Sure, you can watch reruns of classic Nick shows like Clarissa Explains It All and Rugrats this fall, but why settle for comedy when you can also have despair?
