2016 is already turning out to be pretty wild. Behind all of our backs, Rupert Murdoch and Jerry Hall have been in a whirlwind romance are now engaged to be married. This might be the most surprising couple news since Daisy Fuentes and Richard Marx!
The announcement was made through an ad in English newspaper, The Times, which is owned by Murdoch’s News Corp. The ad reads, “Mr. Rupert Murdoch, father of Prudence, Elisabeth, Lachlan, James, Grace and Chloe Murdoch, and Miss Jerry Hall, mother of Elizabeth, James, Georgia and Gabriel Jagger are delighted to announce their engagement.” I sense a pitch for a new reality show!
According to The Times, the 84-year-old media mogul and the 59-year-old former model were introduced by one of Murdoch’s sisters and his niece just four months ago. The couple became engaged over the weekend while in Los Angeles to attend the Golden Globe awards ceremony. “They have loved these past months together, are thrilled to be getting married and excited about their future,” Murdoch’s spokesperson told Mail Online.
This will be the fourth marriage for Murdoch and the first for Hall, who had been in a 23-year relationship with Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger until 1999.
