Best Comment Of The Day in response to Katy Perry: “Speaking In Tongues Is As Normal To Me As Pass The Salt”: “One need only listen to Katy Perry’s music to realize she’s a Parseltongue.” • You Say: “Cal-i-for-nia gurls, they’re heirs of Slytherin Daisy dukes, half-noses on top.” • Best Comment Of The Day in response to Baby-Dropping Immigrant Women Targeted By Republicans:

As an immigration attorney, I fight on a daily basis to rid the world of the term “anchor baby.” Not only is it completely offensive, it is also entirely inaccurate.
Fact: A person who enters the country unlawfully and has a child born here WILL NOT be able to stay in the country just because they have a US citizen child.
Fact: A person who enters the country legally does not automatically get to stay because they have a US citizen child unless they were eligible to stay without the child.
Fact: A person who enters the US, has a child, and subsequently leaves will have to wait 21 years before their child may petition for them to enter the US.
Fact: Our immigration system is broken and people are suffering. US citizens are suffering, permanent residents are suffering, husbands and wives, brothers and sisters, children and parents are suffering. They are suffering because the only people screaming loud enough about immigration are the racists who are trying to inspire fear, not the people in the trenches who are trying to spread knowledge.
So please excuse me if I’m preaching to the choir, but we will not be able to stop the suffering until the voting public is truly informed about our broken immigration system.
