Today’s best comments reek of brilliance.

Best Comment Of The Day in response to Taylor Swift’s Career Enters The Purfume Stage:

But will Taylor Swift be naming the names of those people the perfume reminds her of, or will we have to guess which former maybe-kinda-sorta-boyfriend has been distilled into grapefruit and rose hips?

Best Comment Of The Day in response to Marie Claire “Fatties” Writer To Teach Mediabistro Class:

In addition to Ms. Kelly’s tenure, Bizarro University announced that Sharron Angle will teach ‘Multiculturalism in Today’s Society: Appreciating Diversity’, the Situation will chair the Womens’ Studies program, and Christine O’Donnell will be teaching Human Sexuality.

Best Comment Of The Day in response to See Marie Antoinette’s Piano-Playing LadyRobot:

Play us a song, you’re the piano ‘bot
play us a song maintenant.
Well, we’re all in the mood for a melody
And you’ve got us feelin’ content.

Best Comment Of The Day in response to Obama Reveals Sasha & Malia’s Halloween Costumes:

A sour patch kid and a turkey. Think about it folks. A sour patch kid, and a turkey, an animal that drowns in the rain because it’s looking up like it’s something new. Do we need children dressing like unpleasant globules of sugar and nature’s D student? This is what’s wrong with the world today, and what’s wrong with the youth of America. When the Democrats have a man in charge whose children can’t even have high aspirations in costume form, you know something’s amiss. Is this the kind of America you want? It’s not what I want, that’s for sure. I’d make sure that my kids dressed like something successful, like a tiger, or batman. Figureheads of nature and comic lore that excelled at something. I’m sorry people, but if you dress your kids like weak and feeble things, they’ll be weak and feeble their entire lives. This is Glenn Beck saying, God bless America, and buy my book. I need to beat those anonymous nobodies who think they can top me on Amazon’s best sellers list. I’m out.

Best Comment Of The Day in response to Your Election Day Open Thread:

Vote, vote, please vote, even if you’re angry, even if you feel let down, even if you feel apathetic, even if your choices are between Douchelord A and Douchelord B, at least vote. Even if you abstain from voting for anyone in at least half the races, please vote. Even if you can’t understand why the heck we vote for judges*, please vote. Even if you think there’s no way your candidate will ever win, please vote.
Also, remember that campaign finance (the legal, ethical kind) comes from voter turnout. So even if you hate the leading candidates, feel free to throw your vote to the third-party candidate. They won’t win, but their party will get federal money for their next campaign.
Vote, even if you aren’t registered in the same county and can’t get to your own. Most states offer special state/federal ballots for you to vote on, in those instances.
Remember that if you are anything other than a white male who was born in this country and owns land, at one time or another you were told that you weren’t smart enough or strong enough or human enough to have your say in how this country is run. You don’t just owe this vote to yourself or your candidates; you owe it to everyone who ever fought to give you the right to show up at the polls, free from harassment, and say, “this is what I believe in.”
*but seriously, why do we vote for judges?
