Ms. Platt — who was married to director Peter Bogdanovich in the '60s — served as production designer on several of his films, including The Last Picture Show and Paper Moon. She also wrote the screenplay for the 1978 film Pretty Baby, in which Brooke Shields played a child prostitute, and was nominated for an Academy Award for art direction for her work on Terms of Endearment.
