Neuroscience in Taiwan have found that cramps can actually change the way your mind works. A series of brain scans revealed that women with menstrual cramps experience grey-matter increases in regions involved in pain modulation while on the rag.
This is actually a good time for me to ask this:
I get period cramps FROM HELL. The kind where you're in a fetal position rocking back and forth wondering why God made you a woman. I started using bananas as an after-exercise snack two weeks before my period and my cramps weren't even half as bad.
Is there anything else I can eat (besides pills) to decrease the pain. I already avoid salt (I get bloating), caffeine and I get plenty of potassium now.
