OMFG The Duggars Are Spawning For The 20th Time

Michelle Duggar, 45, and her husband Jim Bob, 46, visited the Today show this morning to announce that they are expecting their twentieth baby. She has already been pregnant 19 times. With this gestation — if she carried a kid for nine months each time — that would be 180 months or 15 years that she's been pregnant. So… Time to pick a name, guys. A name that starts with J.

It's no secret I loathe the Duggars. I hate their ass-backwards, moralistic, fundamentalist, sexist bullcrap of a "lifestyle" so goddamn much. But, whatever — it is their choice and just as I'm entitled to disagree, they're entitled to live like this.

However, the one thing I can't really "accept" about this family is what really happens to the children. With 20 spawn, can Pappa and Mamma Duggar give each and every child the attention and time a kid needs? From what I've seen of the show, once the kids reach walking/talking age, they're passed off to the tween/teen girls while the mother cares for the infants and toddlers. Rarely does it seem like each child gets individual alone time with their parents — and honestly? I think that's really, really sad.

I'm sure these are "nice people," but I really can't accept them as "responsible parents" when it seems like they can't truly say they know the intricacies of their childrens' personalities, their likes/dislikes, their interests, their dreams and ambitions, etc. My parents spent a lot of time supporting and encouraging my many talents and hobbies as a kid (no matter how bizarre); I just can't imagine each Duggar child has this same level of support. With 20 kids, how can kid #12 tell his/her mother what they want to be when they grow up, or kid #8 say what's bothering them in their life?

Granted, the kids are probably so brainwashed that they're programmed to not have their own dreams for the future. I feel so bad for all of them — especially the girls, who are being groomed to become Mamma Dugger II. Sigh.
