Will, Kate & company have released a family photo alongside season’s greetings to the world. Prince George still looks like an Edwardian ghost child, while his little sister resembles some adorable animated bug from Studio Ghibli. Okay, okay—it’s cute.

Question, though: What’s Charlotte thinking?

That’s the face of somebody who’s already got opinions that she is very comfortable asserting. Would she like to pull George’s hair? Would she like to pull the photographer’s hair? Is she meditating on the place of hereditary monarchy in the modern world, or perhaps pondering the folly of man? Has she just pooped?
