Jidenna is a rapper.

Jidenna has a fairly successful single out right now called “Classic Man.” (Although, be warned, it samples Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” so just know you’ll be putting money in her pocket.)

In “Classic Man,” Jidenna talks about what a fly kinda guy he is.

I‘m a Classic Man

You can be mean when you look this clean

I’m a Classic Man

Calling on me like a young OG

I’m a Classic Man

Your needs get met by the street, elegant old fashioned man

Yeah baby I’m a Classic Man

Emphasis mine.

Jidenna likes bespoke suits.

Jidenna likes a carefully gelled coif.

Jidenna likes vests.

Jidenna likes canes.

Jidenna likes sculpted facial hair.

Jidenna likes brightly—patterned cravats.

Jidenna dresses like Calvin Candie, AKA Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained.

LET ME BE CLEAR: I don’t think Jidenna approves of slavery or slave-owners in any way, shape or form. However, TELL ME I’M WRONG. JUST TRY.

Jidenna dresses like a flamboyant cotton plantation owner. Sorry.

The Gaysian

In before people talk about his name.

Jidenna in Igbo means “Embrace the Father.”

Interesting fact about his father: His father Oliver Mobisson (Nigeria) is the first person in Black African history to design and build personal computers with indigenous programming.

One can also argue that his styling is based heavily on Sapeurs, and 1970’s Lagos.
