Noted Scholar Jeb Bush Says Immigrants Are 'More Fertile'

Jeb Bush angered/confused both Democrats and Republicans by giving immigrants the most awkward backhanded compliment of all time during today’s Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference.

“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” he said. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigran, is a noted advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. But he might want to work on finessing his talking points.
