North Carolina's Ultrasound Bill Becomes Law

Yesterday the North Carolina Senate voted 29-19 to override Gov. Bev Perdue’s veto of a bill that requires ultrasounds, state-mandated counseling, and 24-hour waiting periods before abortions. The bill passed in the House earlier this week. Sen. Stan Bingham, the lone Republican who had voted against the bill in June, left the building before the vote.
