Nacho Cheese Bandit Caught After Leaving Behind a Trail of Snacks

Latest

An Iowa City burglar was apprehended on Friday after robbing a store and leaving behind a trail of snacks.

When local police arrived at Creekside Market to investigate a report of a late-night robbery, they didn’t have to look very far for their suspect. Just 100 yards away from the store, there was Francisco J. Munoz, 20, drunkenly munching (I assume) on his delicious stolen goods with a pair of Corona cases by his side.

According to The Gazette:

Police said Munoz’ shirt was covered in nacho cheese and there was a trail of snack foods and lottery tickets between him and the store. Munoz had bloodshot, watery eyes and showed other signs of intoxication, police said. A post-arrest breath test showed Munoz had a blood alcohol content of .270 percent.

The Hansel and Gretel thief reportedly broke into the store with a brick. He’s set to be charged with “third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and public intoxication,” but at least he got those nachos.
