Michael Douglas Says Val Kilmer Is Battling Tongue Cancer, and 'Things Don't Look Good For Him'

After photos of Val Kilmer with what looked like a “breathing aid” around his neck surfaced last year, the actor was quick to deny reports that he was battling cancer or any other kind of illness. But it’s hard for me to believe any report on a celebrity’s health unless it’s provided by Michael Douglas. And I’m in luck, because Michael Douglas happened to do just that!

Page Six reports that Douglas made the comments during a Sunday Q&A in London. When asked about their 1996 film The Ghost and the Darkness, he said:

“Val was a wonderful guy who is dealing with exactly what I had, and things don’t look to good for him…My prayers are with him. That’s why you haven’t heard too much from Val lately.”

Douglas battled tongue cancer (that wasn’t caused by oral sex with his wife, by the way) several years ago, and said he went through both chemo and radiation treatments.

I imagine Douglas getting home from this trip and finding Catherine Zeta Jones waiting for him at the breakfast table, shaking her head. “Call Val,” she tells him sternly. “Now.”

Mariah Carey has a great defense for new allegations that Australian billionaire James Packer dumped her because she cheated on him with her choreographer. Writes TMZ:

Sources close to Mariah tell us rumors about her relationship with Bryan Tanaka are completely false. We’re told Mimi has a long-standing rep as a “traditional girl,” and wouldn’t blow that for anyone.

The source goes on to say that she and Packer haven’t had sex, either. (This is a very strict policy!) The two “always had separate rooms,” even in their yacht. So basically Packer is trying to rock the boat, and Carey is claiming she never even rocked it.

Oh, good.
