Mexican Superstar Sued By Pharmaceutical Company After Getting Pregnant

The Mexican press is reporting that a pharmaceutical company is suing megastar Thalia for breach of contract, apparently because she got pregnant during a period she was supposed to be endorsing their creams.

Thalia gave birth to her second child with music executive Tommy Mottola in June. The actual relationship between the her pregnancy and the lawsuit is quite unclear from the reports. Reforma cited sources saying that the “main reason” Genomma Lab International is seeking return of payments plus interest on the two year contract is because she was pregnant, but doesn’t say if it was a matter of missed or canceled appearances. Another Mexican source goes further and indicates that the company is suing because “the image of a pregnant woman doesn’t correspond to the one stipulated in a contract.” So much for that pregnant glow thing.
