Matt Damon is promoting the fifth Bourne movie (I honestly hope they make a thousand of those things) on the cover of this month’s GQ, and—in a twist—the magazine’s editors chose to interview other people about the actor for their story. Though it marks a full 180 from last month’s considerably more revealing profile of Kim Kardashian, there are a couple interesting bits scattered among the sea of expectedly dull famous-people-praise-other-famous-people moments.
One such moment stems from a conversation with Damon’s Bourne franchise co-star, Julia Stiles, during which she recalled that time they all met Prince.
Julia Stiles: After The Bourne Ultimatum came out, there was a premiere in London. Prince actually came to it, then got tickets for the cast to come see him [perform]. We were summoned into a room to meet him [after the show]. Matt said, “So you live in Minnesota? I hear you live in Minnesota.”
Damon: Prince said, “I live inside my own heart, Matt Damon.”
You know what a good coffee table book would be? A collection of stories about the first time people—famous and non-famous alike—met Prince. You could probably fill hundreds of pages, and I bet each and every single one of them would be good. Just a thought.
