I've actually read a few articles echoing Gaga's statement and I agree with her. I can't imagine the tax revenue from a few summer concerts is enough to actually to change the minds of the government; it seems too little an amount to matter when the view is that the illegal immigrants are costing quite a lot of money themselves, which no one seems to care enough to do actual math for anyway. Arizona needs all the public outcry and outraged voters it can get, and if your a kid in support or on the fence you're more likely to stop liking a band for canceling than to stop liking a law your family supports because it ruined your summer plans. Music has long been a means if igniting protest and social concern and getting 50,000 people together to explain your position and call them to action will probably effect the outcome more that a few lost dollars to some bigots looking for an excuse to be bigots. Threatening their reelection and thus their actual salary would have more effect than threatening a budget they're just using as a bargaining chip to get reelected.
