Law & Order: SVU Rips Rape Joke Episode From Very Familiar Headlines

Latest

Next week’s episode of Law & Order: SVU contains a special treat: a plot line centered around a RAPE JOKE GONE WILD. Stop me if you’ve heard this one.

According to a release from NBC, “Comic Perversion” — airing next Wednesday at 9 PM EST — will unfold thusly:

Jonathan Silverman guest stars as popular “rape-joke comic” Josh Galloway, whose self proclaimed edgy act inspires two of his fans to attempt an assault on a college co-ed. When another student accuses Galloway himself of rape, Sergeant Benson (Mariska Hargitay) pushes ADA Barba (Raúl Esparza) to prosecute the he-said she-said case despite the shaky evidence. Is he on trial for his actions or his act?

Gee whiz. I wonder from where, oh where these headlines might have been ripped? Yes, I’m implying that this is exactly like that time 2 years ago when this very website ruined comedy forever and caused dozens and dozens of comedians to be arrested and jailed, where they languish, mic-less to this day. Except, you know, with 1000% more Sergeant Benson.

Two thoughts on this: First, writing for Law & Order: SVU must be either the easiest or hardest job in the world. Second, it might be kind of awesome if Daniel Tosh livetweets it.
