Kansas Now Has One Licensed Abortion Provider

Kansas narrowly avoided becoming the first state with no abortion provider yesterday when the state announced it would grant a license to a Planned Parenthood facility in Overland Park. The state’s other two abortion clinics were shut down by the state’s harsh new licensing regulations, but are seeking an injunction to prevent the law from taking effect today. Kansas has now earned the dubious distinction of being one of only three states, with South Dakota and Mississippi, with only one abortion provider.
