Judge Bars Inscrutable Personhood Initiative From Nevada Ballot

Latest

Citing the “unclear” wording in Nevada’s pro-personhood ballot initiative, a Nevada judge has thrown the stupid thing out.

The proposed initiative would have introduced an amendment to the state constitution that read, “The term ‘person’ includes every human being.” Carson City District Judge James Wilson thought that the language was “unclear.” You say “unclear,” I say “idiotically vague.”

This is the second setback for the coast to coast “personhood” movement in less than a week. Another judge ordered that language be added to a similar ballot measure to clarify that “The initiative will impact some rights Nevada women currently have to utilize some forms of birth control, including the ‘pill;’ and to access certain fertility treatments such as in vitro fertilization. The initiative will affect embryonic stem cell research, which offers potential for treating diseases such as diabetes, Parkinsons disease, heart disease, and others.”

Damn skippy it will.

Of course, Personhood USA plans to appeal the decision. Watching this organization continuing to try to make “personhood” happen is like watching Heidi Montag try to dance. Except she’s trying to do it inside your uterus.
