Lately I’ve been thinking about forcing my boyfriend to attend an escape room with me just so I can see how strong of a couple we’d be in the event that the world falls apart. But real life couple John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have taken that hypothetical exercise one step further by creating and casting themselves in what looks like an unbelievably stressful horror movie.
Directed by Krasinski, the plot details of A Quiet Place are still unclear, but from the looks of the teaser it seems like it centers on a family living on the edges of society on a creepy farm. The family, which includes actress Millicent Simmonds from Wonderstruck, lives in near-silence, communicating through sign language. “If they can’t hear you, they can’t hunt you,” the trailer claims.
I can’t wait to see this in a dark theater and jump a foot off my chair at the sound of a creaky floor-board, simply because it’s the loudest sound in the movie! A Quiet Place is out in April, 2018.
