Ja Rule Would NEVER SCAM or FRAUD, He Says in Fyre Festival Tweetstorm 

It’s unclear how Billy McFarland feels about the dueling Fyre Festival docs released last week from Hulu and Netflix—if he was able to view them at all from his prison cell up in Otisville, where he’s serving a six year sentence for defrauding investors of more than $26 million for his nightmare event. You know who has a lot of feelings, though? McFarland’s co-founder, Ja Rule. We know because he tweeted all of them.

When we last caught up with Ja in September, he was spouting on Drink Champs about being “not ashamed” of Fyre because the idea was “fuckin’ beyond brilliant” and that “…people didn’t really know I had anything to do with the festival until it went wrong.”

Now that Fyre is (happily) back on people’s minds, Ja decided to remind us, once again, that it was an amazing vision and that not only was he not at fault, he was a victim, too.

First of all, it was TWO DOCS. Second, I don’t think this is what people are thinking.

As he says in the Netflix version: “That’s not fraud, that’s not fraud. False advertising, maybe.”

Not sure how that’s Hulu’s responsibility, though there is a GoFundMe for the restaurant owner in the Bahamas who lost $50,000 thanks to McFarland’s monumental ass-hat-ery.

These are pretty good tweets, but the best one is still the one sent via the Notes app in a panic from the midst of Fyre itself, somewhere between the mattress looting and a bunch of influencers getting locked in an airport without water. Never forget “I truly apologize as this is NOT MY FAULT.”
