In the summer of 2013, the best story on the internet was the one about Sean Parker’s horrible (and horribly tacky) Lord of the Rings-themed wedding to Alexandra Lenas. Three years after the worst costume party Silicon Valley ever birthed, it still is.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Ian McKellan (who played Gandalf in the LOTR films) revealed that he was asked to be a part of it, but turned it down. Ever a gentleman, Sir Ian didn’t call Parker out by name when telling the story. He simply said:
“I was offered one-and-a-half million dollars to marry a very famous couple in California, which I would perhaps have considered doing but I had to go dressed as Gandalf. So I said, ‘I am sorry, Gandalf doesn’t do weddings.’”
I doubt there’s a long list of couples who would have offered $1.5 million for Gandalf to officiate their wedding, but The Daily Mail did some research and, welp:
A source told this newspaper: ‘The offer to Sir Ian to officiate was made through a mutual friend of Sir Ian’s and Sean Parker.’
Now the only question left is: Who the hell is that mutual friend?
Leonardo DiCaprio and Nina Agdal were in a car accident! I know you’re probably thinking, I thought Leo only rode Citibikes and I thought Victoria’s Secret Angels always flew, but sometimes they like being on four wheels.
Gossip Cop reports DiCaprio and the supermodel he may or may not spend the rest of his life vaping beside were driving around in the Hamptons over the weekend when they were rear-ended.
A source says [Leo] immediately got out of the vehicle he was driving to check on the driver of the other car. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, though an ambulance arrived on the scene to ensure none of the parties involved was hurt.
It was just a “fender bender” and both of them are fine, so we can still look forward to Revo2tionary Road.
We’ve all been there, Natalie!
