Here's a weird story out of Sarasota, Florida that's sure to be turned into an episode of Law & Order faster than you can say "chung-chung." In a three-month period, two students killed themselves and one died in a car crash (all separate incidents) just after being hypnotized by their high school principal, George Kenney. Kenney, who has been warned by the school board multiple times in the past to stop his behavior, has already hypnotized over 75 students, staff members, and their families. He isn't shy about his "craft" and openly sells his hypnotherapy tapes on Amazon.com. Kenny has said that he used hypnotherapy on students to "help motivate students on school and athletics." As for killing themselves? That's what authorities are currently investigating.
From what I know about hypnotism, you can't make someone do something that they are uncomfortable with, and you definitely can't make someone kill themselves.
Also, the effects basically wear off once you leave the session, so all those weight-loss and smoking hypo-therapies are bullshit.
Maybe he was doing something far more inappropriate with said students. That's what worries me.
