Hospital Sends Out "Rubbish" Job Ad

A British hospital is conducting an internal investigation after a job ad on its website concluded with the line, “Usual rubbish about equal opportunities employer etc.” The hospital was quick to state that it does not actually consider equal employment opportunity to be “rubbish”:

The wording on this advert in no way reflects the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS Trust’s position in relation to equal opportunities, to which it is fully committed.

It seems plausible that someone just typed the statement as a placeholder, without malicious intent, and forgot to update the post before it went live. Still, equating non-discrimination with garbage looks pretty bad for any organization. The hospital might consider holding some refresher meetings on employment policy, as well as proofreading.
